Spanish Rugby League’s first professional club, the Valencia Huracanes, have confirmed that they will tour the Philippines this July and will face the current Estepa Elefante Cup title holders, the North Luzon Headhunters.
Touring a week after the Spanish Men’s National Rugby League team visits Baler, Aurora, the Valencia team will face the Headhunters in the national capital on Sunday, July 5 in what will be only their third clash against foreign opposition.
The Valencia Huracanes were formed in 2019 as Espana Rugby League’s first professional club. The team, which is aiming to join the United Kingdom’s League One competition in the near future, played their inaugural match earlier this year against the Featherstone Rovers at the Estadio de Rugby in Villajoyosa.
The Huracanes will take part in the upcoming Espana Rugby League National domestic competition before taking on the Rochdale Hornets in June this year.
