South Africa is the latest nation to be gain representation at the upcoming ASEAN Rugby League Nines in Pattaya this November with confirmation that the Middelburg Rabbitohs will take part in the tournament.
Whilst best known for Rugby Union, South Africa has a growing domestic presence with the National Premiership entering its 11th season. The Middelburg Rabbitohs, are one of the fourteen teams taking part in the 2019/20 competition and are based out of the Mpumalanga province in South Africa.
The Rabbitohs will join teams from Ireland, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand in what will be South-East Asia’s largest Nines tournament.
The second annual ASEAN International Nines is set to feature up to 12-teams and will take place at Horse Shoe Point Stadium in Pattaya on November 9.
The inaugural tournament was won by the Jamberoo Superoos after they defeated the defeated Coogee Randwick Wombats in last year’s Final.
