Japanese Rugby League launch Junior Academy in Tokyo

The Japanese Rugby League will launch its inaugural Junior Rugby League Academy this April in Tokyo.

The South Ikebukuro Rugby League Academy is a new initiative by the Japanese Rugby League to introduce the sport to Primary and Secondary School students around Tokyo and will be the first junior program run in the country.

The Academy will be held at the Minami-Nagasaki Sports Park in the Toshima Ward from April 25 and will run on the second and fourth Thursday each month then after.

Sessions will start at 17:15 for Primary School Students in Year’s 4, 5 and 6, whilst Secondary Student Academy sessions will run from 18:45. The Academy is open to both boys and girls.
