Ubon Wild Bees return to the field this Sunday

Winners of the 2016/2017 Isaan Federation of Clubs (IFC) Premiership, the Ubon Wild Bees, will return to the field this Sunday when the team plays host to the Mukdahan Blue Nagas in Ubon Ratchathani.

The match will be the official kick off to the Mekong Zone in the 2019 ASEAN Super League and be the first time the Wild Bees have had the opportunity to defend their Premiership in what was the last official Rugby League competition played in the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Mekong Zone will feature four teams with two from Laos set to join the Wild Bees and Blue Nagas in future matches.

Sunday’s match will be a Double Header with a historic Women’s clash taking place between the Moon River Wildcats taking on Mukdahan Blue Birds beforehand.

The Wild Bees won the 2016/17 competition after defeating the Mahasarakham Lions 26 – 6 at Mahasarakham Institute of Sport Stadium.
